One of the girls in my 9 year old’s class just said “My favorite author, other than myself, is Judy Blume,” and that’s the energy I want to see from all women writers going forward
Love you all.
Be brave. Be this pony.
Seeing this pony working up the courage to jump over a tiny step made my day
Mmm. There’s a line between thinking through scenarios so you are reasonably prepared and less caught off guard vs catastrophizing such that you have the emotional impact of worst case stuff.
I am terrible at respecting that line. Try to be better than me, kids. https://twitter.com/ChatsVoid/status/1350305395064115201
I’m a self fulfilling prophet.
@steve_vladeck “Over the past six months, this Court has repeatedly sidestepped its usual deliberative processes, often at the Government’s request, allowing it to push forward with an unprecedented, breakneck timetable of executions.”
Sotomayor is right + it’s absolutely horrifying.
Reminder: the execution of Lezmond Mitchell set a horrible precedent. He was a Navajo citizen & the crimes occurred on the Navajo Nation. The Navajo are anti-death penalty but the Trump administration killed him anyway & used a loophole to do it (he was executed for car jacking). https://twitter.com/taniel/status/1350299028014178308
Justice Sotomayor, on the Trump administration’s rush to kill.

My favorite fake news featuring the Sandy Neck Light is this Colbert piece about AWOL Afghan soldiers on Cape Cod. See minute 1:30 at http://www.cc.com/video-clips/uc4f7i/the-colbert-report-awol-afghan-soldiers

Wait, after you had boarded up the windows? Story??
Sandy Sutherland We used to board up the windows for the winter (ideally before hurricane season). But storms haven’t been as bad (famous last works, I did run down there once a couple years ago before hurricane and board them up) and windows are stronger.
It also kept out thieves, which was more of a problem when the weather was colder and people seldom went out there. Now there’s rangers, and people spending weekends at nearby houses even in the winter.
Sandy Sutherland In case it wasn’t clear. It’s in a family trust. My grandfather bought it in the 40’s.
So, if the Onion is correct ( 😀 ), the CIA has a file on your entire family!!
