In the “it’s a crazy small world” category: Gandaki, Nepal

In the “it’s a crazy small world” category. I just FaceTimed my daughter to answer a tech question she’d texted me about yesterday. Caught her hiking up this hill in Gandaki, Nepal.
The connection was remarkably good; only a couple dropouts. Although occasionally there was labored breathing or it would be interrupted by brief interchanges like:
“Stand over there.”
“One sec, Baba. Comstock photos…I’m not standing over there, there’s a spider.”
Modern communications technology is truly awesome, and still getting more so.
Andrew Pam See my added comment above. The quality was great. I was only doing voice but it was clear. Just had a couple times when it dropped out—and that could have been her hiking
Amazing. Had a very clear video conversation from an isolated strip of the south coast of Cyprus yesterday. I remember writing letters from such places and getting replies a month later. Maybe.
Joseph Moosman Yep. I spent six weeks in South America in college and got all my letters from my girlfriend on the last day at the embassy. The one from my grandparents missed and got returned a few months later.
